GP's "Birth"day Blog It was Thursday evening around 6pm when Tim & Marcela came to pick up Angelina.  I fixed ham and Pat made her famous scalloped potatoes.  We talked about next Monday and how everything would be ready for Marek's entrance into the world.  As they were leaving, I saw Marcela shiver.  It was really getting cold and it started to rain as they drove off. I woke up the next morning hearing Pat talking on the phone.  Marek was here; Happy, Healthy and a little bit early.  He is going to be a true Vanecek.  He does what he wants, when he wants and where he wants.  The story of how he and Mom got to the hospital (during the ice storm of 2011) and how he was born will be great memories to tell his kids. We did get to meet him as soon as the ice and snow melted and the highways opened.  He is beautiful. Thank you Marek for becoming my GrandSon. Love,  Grandpa
